JACK UPDEGRAFF
I started my mortgage banking career in Seminole, Florida in 1972 and moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1976 and was employed by Decatur Federal where I served as a branch manager and mortgage officer in Roswell and Marietta. I spent over 10 years originating mortgage loans and decided to move into construction and development lending. I went through several bank mergers where I served as senior vice president in the construction loan department until 2009 when I retired due to the economy.
I decided in 1996 to get my real estate license; however I did not pursue it full time until 2009. I have had a few opportunities to go back into banking, however I enjoy real estate too much. I still continue to stay involved with mortgage lending since it gives me an advantage when working with clients. I feel that I can help them through the complicated mortgage process.
My wife and I have built five homes ourselves and recently remodeled our present home in Big Canoe®. I am very familiar with the Forsyth, Cherokee and North Fulton markets.
My wife and I have two children and four grandchildren, soon to be five. My wife works part time at Gibbs Garden and we are both active at the Big Canoe® Chapel. Big Canoe® is our home and we plan to stay here.
